Bass Fishing Tackle - Getting Organized!Bass fishing tackle and how you manage it is just one of the components in the success of your fishing activities. I've seen some nightmare situations on the water where poorly prepared anglers have cost themselves plenty of bass simply because their tackle is too unorganised.
A well prepared angler will have his/her tackle in a sorted fashion and be able to access it without any fuss or complications when they need it. Organising Your Bass Fishing Tackle As a child, I often used to watch in wonderment at my old man before every fishing excursion; he was so organised that there wasn't an item in his tackle box which he wasn't aware of. He always spent time before we left organising everything neatly into an arrangement so when he needed it, he didn't have to waste valuable time looking for it. To be honest, it drove me mad at the time because it seemed like a chore but years later, I've now realised how important managing bass fishing tackle really is. Tips On Managing Bass Fishing Tackle There are so many components which go into making up the term tackle. For example, there's your rod; it's the mainstay of fishing tackle but without other parts then it's practically useless on it's own. You've got to have line, hooks, crank and spinner baits, jigs, weights and the list goes on. So how do you manage it all in one convenient location? Before you decide where all your tackle is going to reside you've first got to create a good management system. There are many products on the market today from soft storage systems to heavy duty boxes which are specifically designed for you the angler. You see, they have been designed by people who have spent long periods on the water and know what an angler needs to keep their tackle neatly organised and accessible. Look for these qualities in a good tackle storage system... accessibility, the size of the storage system which is important if you are an occasional fisherman or a regular one, separation compartments to keep different tackle from tangling with each other ( don't you hate that! ), and whether you can grab something in a hurry when you need it meaning can you locate it quickly. Bass Fishing Tackle Storage We've touched on some of the storage equipment available. Obviously the tried and tested tackle box is the most popular but sometimes they can be a little bulky and and pain in the you know what when you're in a boat or a restricted movenment area. But they certainly get the job done. Soft storage products such as binders are becoming more and more popular while for anglers on the move, smaller storage wallets are very effective because they neatly fold and can fit into a coat pocket or trouser pocket. But whatever bass fishing tackle system you use, make sure it's organized and your tackle is easily accessible when you require it. |
